Their is some amazing talent among primary school children, according to internationally renowned photographer, Steve Parish. Steve visited Healesville Sanctuary to run a series of photography workshops for primary and secondary school students.
To highlight their creativity, the Sanctuary's Learning Experiences team challenged students to take a photo of a collection animal that opens peoples' eyes to the beauty of Australia's wildlife.
A number of students, aged from 6 to14, visited the Sanctuary with their schools and spent the day taking photos. Students were then able to send through their best photos to enter a competition with entries on display at Healesville Sanctuary during Threatened Species week.
Winners of each age group received an enlargement of their photo. The enlarged photos will also be sold in the Retail Shop at Healesville Sanctuary with the proceeds supporting our threatened species program at Healesville Sanctuary. The overall winner received a Nikon D3100 SLR camera and lens kindly donated by Croydon Camera House
