Today two female Platypus, Ember and Waddaring, went on public display for the first time this week.
Waddaring (indigenous for Platypus) and Ember (who emerged from her burrow just days after the 2009 Victorian bushfires) were both bred at Healesville Sanctuary and it's the first time Sanctuary-bred Platypus have been displayed together.
This quirky little pair have been busy exploring and playing in their new water tank and are on display at the Platypus House at Healesville Sanctuary. Visitors can learn more at the Platypus Keeper talk at 1pm daily.
