Two of Healesville Sanctuary's Short-beaked Echidnas Spike and Christmas are heading off to see a specialist vet dermatologist at 1.30pm this afternoon at the Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre in Glen Waverley (70 Blackburn Road).

Both animals have had some inflamed lesions on their backs, leading to veterinarians having to cut the spines to treat the areas. One of our vets, Dr Phillipa Mason, is escorting the patients.
